What are safe and effective method of bleaching my teeth?
Depending on your needs and your lifestyle there are 2 options. One is in office teeth whitening that is a quick, one hour procedure approved by American Dental Assosiation and produces visible results for most discolorations. The other method is at home bleaching where a custom made convenient small trays are made in which a gel is used. The trays are worn for a limited time for about 10-14 days.

What the difference between tooth colored and amlgam/metal fillings?
Dental Amalgam is a silver/mercury filling that is no longer our best restorative option. This material was developed during Civil War. The mercury content of the new amalgam/metal filling can be 55%. Over time this material becomes leaky and and is temperature sensitive, causing it ti expand and contract, therefore often causing fracures of the teeth. In my 14th year of practice, I have found decay under 90% of these fillings that are only over 6 years old. The best options is the new generation tooth colored fillings. They seal teeth well by bonding to tooth structure and reinforcing it. They contain no toxic metals. They look like natural teeth and the wear resistance is excellent.

What are Veneers?
Veneers are custom made porcelain facings that can instantly correct the shape and color of your teeth in just two visits. They are about a thickness of your fingernail and can last 10 to 15 years with good care giving you a beautiful smile.

What are crowns?
Crowns are used to cover and support a tooth that had been broken down or fractured. It is a covering that looks just like your natural healthy tooth, but helps to preserve you weakened tooth underneath. It is permanently cemented on your tooth, so it feels and functions like your own.

What are Implants?
Implants is a great way to put back a missing tooth or teeth. They have been around for over 30 years and have a 95% sucess rate. It is non remouvable and feels like your own tooth. It consists of placing a titanium tooth root into missing tooth space and shortly after fitting it with a custom crown that looks like your natural tooth. Patients don't feel the difference between the implants and their natural teeth.
